There's a delicate balance between common sense and being prepared

This is a Free Service... Simple Survival Advice, Techniques, and Survival Products

Although a survival is prepared for just about anything, a heat source is the last item we recommend every homeowner have on hand for basic survival. Once you've lost your utilities, the ability to prepare warm food is lost, as is sterilization of water or supplies. The ability to keep warm during inclement weather is also lost. Hopefully we will never see this in 2012, but preparedness is priceless in any serious survival situation.

Some individuals located in rural and wooded areas might have a seemingly endless supply of lumber to create and maintain fire for cooking and heat, but individuals located in urban setting need to rely on a bit of enginuity and a fuel source called propane. Weekend campers can relate to this fuel source. It can power lanterns, cooking grills, portable heaters, deep fryers, and camping stoves.

Propane is sold in small canisters typically used for outdoor activities such as hunting or camping. Typical sizes are 5lb, 11lb, and 20lb. The 20lb canisters are typically associated with a backyard barbeque grill. You will need to shop locally for the propane canisters due to restrictions on home delivery, but many useful propane powered survival items are available online.
